Many of our students face daily barriers that have nothing to do with learning: an empty stomach, a missing pencil, a lack of hygiene products. Our volunteers work to make sure those barriers don't stand in the way of an education.

What to Expect as a Volunteer
We want you to arrive with a clear, honest picture of daily life here before you commit.
Eco-Friendly Homestay
You'll stay with a local family in a simple, eco-friendly homestay, a great way to experience daily village life firsthand.
Free Food & Accommodation
Meals and accommodation are provided at no cost for the full length of your stay.
Village-Style Facilities
Toilets and washing facilities are simple and village-style, the same as what local families use. Please come prepared for a rustic, rural setting.
Follow School Rules
Volunteers are expected to respect and follow the school's rules and daily schedule at all times.
Minimum Time Commitment
We ask for a minimum stay of 2 weeks, so you have time to build real relationships with students and make a meaningful contribution.

In May and June of this year I had the pleasure of volunteering in the tiny village of Chum Chour in northwestern Himalyas, in a community school called Manju Shree.
This was a life changing experience for me, as I went in there not really knowing what to expect, never having been to that part of the world.
It was a sensory overload with the breathtaking landscape, the most beautiful heart felt people you will ever meet, the gorgeous, enthusiastic children, and the simplicity of a life that is rarely experienced in this time.
I would highly recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure, who is keen to dip into an entirely different culture and way of life and would like to offer support to this beautiful village.

This was one of a kind experience where I went to teach computer basics to the teachers of Manjushree school in Jumla.
In the process of teaching, I learnt more from the hardworking, committed tiny kindergarten kids who walk over 2 hours daily to commute to school, love and care given by kalang ji's family who hosted us and the openness and dedication of the teachers to upskill with technology they have never seen before.
What has stayed with me most, and what I am still turning over in my mind, is how completely at one with nature everyone there lives. I went to help, and I ended up being the one who was helped.
